MahaShe is known for its timeless and elegant styles, with vibrant, funky and retro style prints. But behind the scenes the company is a wonderful example of hard work, strong community ties, and great design.

MahaShe has for the past 15 years built a passionate and loyal following at various weekend local markets across diverse places such as Lismore, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay and Brisbane, including selling from the car boot!  If you live around those areas and want to catch them at the market, check out their Facebook page.

That loyal following, the success of their fabrics & design, and their ongoing commitment to service their customers with ethical items, has led to MahaShe being stocked in more than 200 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.  They recently built their first bricks and mortar shop in their home town of Brunswick Heads in northern NSW.

As mentioned above, MahaShe commits to quality clothing that provides the least environmental and social impact possible. Their dresses are typically 100% cotton (the winter range using 5% lycra to give it that perfect stretch), with a huge emphasis on 'old school' cotton quality. That means using only the highest quality cotton: preshrunk and colourfast, incredibly durable, and lasting for years and years.

The garments are designed in Brunswick Heads (by their wonderfully talented designers such as Elena and April) and then taken to India where suppliers are vetted to make sure they provide an honest and fair working environment.

We love their cotton fabrics, and their designs are absolutely gorgeous, as you'll see in the video below of their Magnolia collection.  We also love May the EK Holden Special, the car they used for the shooting of this collection. You can read more about May the EK and her owner Kirsten on May's site
